So it’s time to say goodbye to the stress of planning because we handle all the details – all you have to do is show up and relish in the magic of a transformative journey.” – Ana and Sandy from Two Peacocks Travel
The fascinating part here is that, as first-generation Latinas in the US, they knew they wanted to make an impact on the next generation. And like that, transitioning from public service to entrepreneurship, Ana and Sandy embarked on a journey of reinvention, leveraging their joint and very diverse skill sets to create something entirely new. Motivated by observing their high school students navigating remote learning without traditional junior and senior year activities during the pandemic, they developed a cultural and social immersion program. The initial idea was to send their kids to Cordoba, Spain for a 2 week experience; however, it gained traction quickly and before they knew it, it became a 6 week experience and a party of 5, including their friend’s daughter who joined them.
That adventure was the catalyst that began their travel-preneur journey in August 2022 with a focus on international student programs. Soon after, their initiative expanded to include friends seeking hassle-free travel experiences, leading them to organize their first women’s group trip to Cuba in early 2023.
Through travel, these two inspiring women discovered countless benefits, but perhaps the most profound was to realize its transformative power. Now, Two Peacocks Travel focuses on inspiring you to embark on journeys of self-discovery and rediscovery.

Why is Two Peacocks Travel perfect for me?
Why? Because Ana and Sandy know first-hand how important, magical and exciting travel is, and how much the whole experience will mean to you. For them, the best part about working within the travel industry is the sheer fulfilment we have all experienced when we arrive at a new destination. For them, that precise moment—when they could witness their travellers’ reactions when they land in a new country—is enough of a reason to do this for a living.
Because it is true. There’s something quite priceless about seeing someone’s initial response, about who we become when we travel, when we’re making new friends, when we immerse ourselves in unique experiences, and, above all, being able to truly be ourselves. For the founders of Two Peacocks Travel, “that brings us the most joy.”

So, to those still hesitating to take the leap and travel to become the best version of themselves, these inspiring travel-preneurs have some words of wisdom for you that we can 100% get behind:
“Embrace the unknown and step out of your comfort zone. Travel has the incredible power to ignite personal growth, broaden perspectives, and unlock hidden potential. Don’t let fear hold you back from experiencing the transformative journey that awaits you. Allow yourself the opportunity to explore new cultures, meet diverse people, and create unforgettable memories. Trust in the process and believe in the endless possibilities that travel can offer. You owe it to yourself to seize the moment and embark on the adventure of a lifetime. So, pack your bags, take that first step, and watch as you blossom into the most empowered, enlightened version of yourself.”
Some of Two Peacock Travels’ hilarious anecdotes:
And don’t worry, we can confirm that this whole transformative experience will be exciting and life-changing, but that does not mean it’ll not be packed with laughter and unique memories. So, here are 4 hilarious anecdotal moments from past travels that will get you laughing as if you had been there:
1. Lost in translation:
During a trip to Switzerland, we found ourselves in a hilarious situation when trying to translate between Spanish, English, French and a little Italian. Despite our best efforts, our attempts at speaking any one of the languages to help someone with directions resulted in some comical misunderstandings, leading to all of us laughing trying to navigate to get to the funicular. We always tell our travellers to learn some basic phrases to get them by, but this was a whole other level of translation.
2. Keys to Controlled Chaos- An Unforgettable Roman Escapade:
We’re at the Trevi Fountain in Rome, enjoying the sights, when suddenly Sandy sends me a text with “we have a problem!” Turns out, her purse was missing with all our documents and the car keys! Cue the collective panic for about two seconds, and then Sandy and I jumped into action. We rushed back to the car which wasn’t working properly, so we drove back to the airport to change it (here’s where it gets interesting), just to realize there that they only had two manual cars available. Minor detail, I had not driven a manual in years! And in a foreign country, never! But there we went, driving in Rome’s traffic, total chaos. We end up each in our own separate cars, splitting up the group of travellers.
My daughter becomes my copilot, guiding me through the manual transmission as we navigate to Florence to reunite with Sandy and the rest of the crew. While it wasn’t exactly a laughing matter at the time, the next morning over breakfast, we couldn’t help but laugh about our wild adventure, sharing the different views on the event from each of our travellers.
And guess what? Sandy’s purse turned up thanks to the Italian police! The moral of the story: stay flexible, stay calm, and we recommend not storing your purse on the driver’s side. It will likely fall out when you open the door.
3. Salsa Surprise: A Night at the Buena Vista Social Club:
We took our group to a closing dinner. We decided to go to the legendary Buena Vista Social Club. We told them they would end up dancing, but a lot of them said no, because they didn’t know how to dance salsa. Of course, that didn’t last too long. As the show kicked off, the rhythm of the music had everyone dancing in their seats, and before we knew it, we were all caught up in a whirlwind of spontaneous salsa dancing on stage, as if they were all born to dance.
4. Mini confusion on the London Metro:
Navigating the metro system in London proved to be an adventure in itself, as you might know. But when Sandy accidentally stood on the left side of the escalator, someone all of a sudden yelled, “You’re on the wrong side of the escalator. This side is for walkers.”
Despite the momentary confusion, she embraced the opportunity to realize the differences in how people navigate through public transportation in different countries, promoting a fascinating exchange of each other’s life and travel experiences.
Of course, she soon got into the flow and laughed at herself, realizing you can’t assume things function the same way they do back home.
